Fifth Sunday after Pentecost – June 19, 2016
There is a profound movement in the Scriptures for today: Israel is judged “rebellious,” and the door for the Gentiles to receive God’s grace begins to open. Salvation is a gift from God to repentant sinners, who by faith are no longer captive to the law but are freed to live joyfully, trusting they are saved by grace. The result of that freedom is the declaration to all who will listen of what Christ has done for us.
Readings this week: Isaiah 65:1-9; Psalm 3; Galatians 3:23 – 4:7; Luke 8:26-39
